Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 September 2026
Makharij ("we", "us") operates the website makharij.ai. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what we do with it. It also sets out the principles that will govern the Awwal app; the app's full privacy policy will be published when the app is released.
What this website collects
If you register interest in early access, we collect the details you enter: your name, your email address, the option you choose to describe yourself, and, if you provide it, your country. We also record the date and time of your registration and a one-way hash of your network address, which we use only to prevent abuse of the form.
The website does not use cookies for tracking and does not run third-party analytics scripts. Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs (such as pages requested and approximate location) for security and capacity purposes, and we look at aggregated, non-identifying statistics from those logs.
Why we collect it
We use your registration details for one purpose: to contact you about early access to Awwal and, if you ask, to keep you informed about Makharij. We do not sell, rent or share these details with anyone for marketing.
Who can see it
Registrations are stored in a database on our hosting provider's servers and are accessible only to Makharij. Notifications of new registrations are sent to our contact mailbox. Our hosting provider processes this data on our behalf under its own terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your registration until early access is over and you have either joined or told us you are no longer interested, or for two years, whichever is sooner. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing info@makharij.ai from the address you registered with.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@makharij.ai and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children's voice data in the Awwal app
Awwal is built for children, and children's voices are sensitive data. When the app is released, its privacy policy will be published with it and will follow these principles:
- A parent or guardian creates the account and gives consent before any recording is made.
- Recordings are used only to assess recitation and to improve recitation feedback.
- Recordings are stored in-region with controlled access and audit logging.
- Recordings are never shared with or sold to third parties.
- Parents can ask for a child's recordings to be deleted.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Significant changes will be announced on this website.
